A day of rest for the fleet in Cherbourg
Position 49° 38.69 N 001° 37.25 W Port Chantereyne, Cherbourg
Its early morning in Cherbourg, the wind is slowly picking up and is beginning to howl. Our MBM fleet is assembled on visitor pontoon Q and is now being buffeted gently. This is the day that we were to be moving cross channel and now safe in port, we are reassured that it was an excellent decision.
Despite the gloomy skies crews have a day of rest and exploration in Cherbourg. Cherbourg has a lot to offer, a new Titanic exhibition at the La Cite de la Mer Museum is just a short walk away from the marina and of course the bustling town itself with its high street shops and restaurants. The obligatory baguette and cream cake from the local patisserie, a french coffee in a local cafe and the purchase of a smelly cheese for the boat fridge is a must today.
