Herm Invasion
Despite a grey and overcast start RIB rides over to Herm were still on the agenda for the day. Departing every 45 minutes from 0900 hrs participants clambered aboard Time Flies and Richard navigated through the rocks over to the charming and beautiful island. Crews encountered some wildlife along the way, cormorants, wading birds, puffins and on one occasion a seal. On the tranquil island some walked the entire coastal path, while others hit the beach or had lunch in the one and only pub, The Mermaid.
In the evening participants attended a pre-arranged Vin d’Honneur, a welcoming drinks reception hosted by the States of Guernsey, and held in the Hatton Gallery at Castle Cornet. The MBM team would like to thank them for their hospitality.
Tomorrow is still looking good as a possible move day and Neale will make the final call in the morning. Alarms have been set for 0700 hrs, radios on for a decision at 0730 hrs and, if we get the go ahead, departures will begin at 0800 hrs.
