Bad weather has blighted the start of the cruise

Sitting out the storm
At 3 o’clock Blue Fin and Time Flies slipped their berths at Port Solent heading for the River Hamble, and the start of the West Country Cruise. What they faced wasn’t unexpected, heavy gusts and an agitated Solent. An hour later the two boats entered the Hamble, salty and windswept.
Unfortunately due to bad weather today only a few of the fleet made the journey by water to the start point, and the inaugural briefing at Mercury Yacht Harbour, Hamble. Many of the participants came by road from as far as Poole in the west and Brighton in the east. There is no plan to move to Poole as scheduled tomorrow, so we will have an unscheduled rest day. The weather forecasts for tomorrow predict more high winds and uncomfortable seas, so the fleet must sit out the storm until the weather breaks.
