Sealine South Coast
Flybridge above 55ft
On cruising boats typically costing upwards of a million pounds, the judges look for a no-expense-spared
feel coupled to the luxurious home-from-home comforts that make life onboard a genuine pleasure, however long the vacation.
Winner: Fairline Squadron 65
Flybridge below 55ft
These boats may be called upon to function as weekend cottages or much longer term family cruisers, so the judges look for versatile accommodation coupled to practical cruising comforts, alongside sound handling for longer forays.
Winner: Azimut 53
Sportscruisers above 45ft
These boats have to have it all: glamour, good handling and performance, and exemplary deck spaces that satisfy the needs of cruising types or day-trippers. The judges also reward brave design and new ideas that
influence the marketplace.
Winner: Princess V62
Highly Commended: Sessa C68
Sportscruisers below 45ft
The judges look for a demanding combination of style, practicality, handling and performance, and a well-judged balance between the spaces above and below-decks. This challenging package has to be served up at the right price.
Winner: Sessa C38
Highly Commended: Cranchi Endurance
Trawlers and Aft Cabins
Impressive accommodation and generous stowage are key elements here, but the judges also look for the solid rough-weather seakeeping and sound engineering necessary to undertake long-legged cruising with minimum worry.
Winner: Beneteau Swift Trawler 34
Highly Commended: Marex 370
Wheelhouse and Walkaround
These uber-practical boats often undertake far more intrepid voyages than their size suggests. They need to be exemplary driver’s boats in any conditions, be hard as nails, and keep their crew safe and snug in any weather.
Winner: Paragon 31
Highly Commended: Marino APB 27
Steel and Inland
Leisurely cruising normally means long periods onboard with plenty of rubbernecking, so the judges look for comfortable space-to-spare interiors, comprehensive inventories, and an unimpeded view out to
watch the world go by.
Winner: Linssen 25.9
Traditional and Retro
More than anything, these boats have to stir the soul with their style and
elegance. However, they should not be mere toys, so the judges also expect them to work just as well on a practical day-to-day level as a conventional boat.
Winner: Nordic Cruiser
Highly Commended: Oyster OM43
RIBs and Sportsboats
Encompassing everything from knockabout little RIBs to glamorous sportsboats to Round Britain Race contenders, the judges are looking for boats that offer that special something beyond the expected tough build and respectable handling.
Winner: Zodiac n-ZO
Highly Commended: Goldfish 29 RIB
Custom Yacht
The Custom Yacht section is the broadest church of all. Here the judges are
looking for boats which most successfully satisfy their target audience, but also for innovation and ground breaking ideas on styling and propulsion and accommodation.
Winner: Mochi Long Range 23
Highly Commended: Ferretti 840 Altura
