We preview the Hunton XRS52, which will be launched at the 2015 Boot Dusseldorf Boat Show
As you may have worked out from the vague silhouette we have been issued by Hunton, there isn’t a huge amount of information on offer about this new flagship.
But that isn’t gong to stop us getting very excited about the upcoming launch of the Hunton XRS52.
Even in the chief exec’s guarded email about the boat, the limited details sound mouthwatering. In short, it said: “Twin or triple engines, petrol or diesel options, and a top speed of up to 60 knots at the top end.” Oh yes, we’ll have a bit of that.
The sketch doesn’t give much away but rumour has it that London-based superyacht designer Eidsgaard Design was responsible for the looks.
The hull will be pure Hunton but we understand this one will have a slightly wider beam than normal to include two proper cabins, both ensuite, as well as a galley and saloon area.
However, it’s the driving experience that has always set Huntons apart and the XRS52 promises the same effortless pace and high speed efficiency that should enable it to run comfortably at 40-50 knots.
It’s been a while since we’ve seen a brand new boat from the famous British marque, but this new flagship looks to be an absolute belter.
