Cougar to mark anniversary
Cougar Marine which produced the first successful offshore powerboat racing catamaran, introduced at the Swanage 80 race in 1969, is to celebrate its 40th anniversary in June with a ‘Beach Ball’ open to all owning Cougar race boats, both old and new.
The event will take place on May 30th from Portland/Weymouth where visitors will have an opportunity of taking part in a variety of competitions from, the oldest Cougar, fastest over measured mile; best presented Cougar and many more.
The day will also offer a chance to meet the founder of Cougar Marine, Clive Curtis, together with his son Steve, in a rare opportunity to view a vast collection of Cougar’s production from past to present.
