The Sessa C42 marks the return of the famous Italian yard to the world stage and how great it is to see it back.
Sessa has built some of the finest boats we’ve ever tested with a unique style and flair that is underpinned by top notch build quality and bordering on fanatical attention to detail.
The C42 is a twin-cabin, twin-bathroom sportscrsuiser powered by a pair of IPS500 units with 370hp per side. It boasts a very spacious cockpit with plentiful seating, a bright saloon and two comfortable sleeping cabins both served by their own bathrooms.
It’s a good year-round option thanks to its mix of expansive deck spaces and a sliding GRP sunroof that can just as easily open the interior up to the elements as keep it sheltered from winter showers. It’s perfectly viable to fire up the engines for a winter dash with the main deck shut up tight and keeping crew cosy, though.
Sessa was an early adopter of the IPS pod-drive system and this shows in the C42’s dynamics. Thought it needs a fair amount of trim tab to maintain a level running attitude, performance, refinement and handling can’t be faulted. It is a very easy and forgiving boat to drive with just enough edge to live up to its sportscruiser persuasions.
