Seaward Boats has revealed details of its upcoming launch, the Seaward 39 Motor Cruiser, which will be launched at this year’s Southampton Boat Show
Changes are afoot at Seaward Boats, with the company revamping its flagship 42 and introducing an all-new model for 2016 – the Seaward 39 Motor Cruiser.
Designed with a new superstructure and providing sleeping space for six, the Seaward 39 is the latest product from the yard’s long-running partnership with TT Designs.
This walkaround model should be supremely practical and Seaward says that it can be easily crewed by a couple.
Below decks, the layout includes a v-shaped forecabin and twin singles amidships. Key features include Avonite worktops, a 47l fridge, ceramic diesel-powered hob, and teak decks throughout.
Engine options come from Yanmar and Cummins with the maximum power output from a twin 370hp set-up that should propel the semi-displacement hull up to a top speed of 25 knots.
More importantly for Seaward fans, the 39 will come with an 1,800l fuel tank and an RCD Category of A, making her suitable for long-distance cruising in all conditions.
Prices start at £479,999 and the Seaward 39 will be ready to go on display at the Southampton Boat Show in September.
Management reshuffle
The new launch comes amid a time of upheaval at Seaward, with managing director Mike Burnham moving into an advisory role and being replaced by Stephen Thomas, former technical director.
What’s more, William Rhys-Jones has joined the Seaward board as Sales and Marketing Director.
Chris Clayton, chairman of Seaward Boats, said: “This is a very exciting time for Seaward Boats. We plan to capitalise on this momentum [of our new launches] and with an eye to the future, have strengthened our management team accordingly.”
