The James Brooke Academy has teamed up with Sunseeker London to help boatbuyers sharpen up their skills
One of Lymington’s newest training academies has teamed up with Sunseeker London to help new boat owners get their skills up to scratch.
The James Brooke Academy offers courses including RYA Yachtmaster and the International Certificate of Competence.
And whilst Sunseeker London will be recommending courses to all new buyers, the academy is open to non-Sunseeker owners as well.
Christopher Head, sales director at Sunseeker London, said: “We are excited to be offering training courses to prospective boat owners of all abilities and we are delighted to welcome James to our team.”
Owners can either bring their own boat for training or they can use the academy’s Sunseeker Camargue 50 (pictured above), which is based at Lymington Yacht Haven.
A lifelong Sunseeker fan, James (pictured right) told MBY that the launch of his academy is the realisation of a long-held ambition.
“Deep-down I’ve always had the most amazing passion and admiration for Sunseekers, ever since I fell in love with the Mustang 21 at the Earl’s Court Boat Show,” he said.
The former Royal Marine Commando added that he has assembled a team of ten instructors who will work with individuals, couples and families to offer inclusive training courses.
