The baby in the Arcadia Yachts range has been unveiled at Boot Dusseldorf under the name Arcadia Sherpa
There are hundreds of yachts on display at the Boot Dusseldorf boat show this week but few will turn heads quite like the Arcadia Sherpa.
This 55ft GRP model from Italian yard Arcadia Yachts has already spawned two hulls, with the second model due to launch in the spring.
Built for Mediterranean cruising, the bold tugboat styling allows for large shaded cabins in the bow as well as an expansive 41m2 open cockpit back aft.
On board, the Arcadia Sherpa boasts an extremely flexible layout, with one, two or three cabins available, while the spacious 7m3 garage can swallow up a Williams tender.
Power comes from Volvo Penta’s IPS600 set-up with a top speed of 25 knots, although this displacement hull is designed for an optimum cruising speed of 12 knots, which keeps fuel consumption down to 43l/h.
This means a cruising range in excess of 500 miles from the 1,800-litre fuel tank. What’s more, the 9KW Kohler generator is supplemented by a 4KW solar panel array.
If you want to go even further down the eco route, Arcadia is offering a “zero emissions” hybrid version that can cruise silently at 8 knots.
