Marina WiFi at all 19 MDL sites has been given a boost after the company invested £250,000 on upgrading its service
MDL Marinas has announced that it has spent £250,000 upgrading its marina WiFi service.
The marina chain claims that the upgraded system can handle video streaming, Skype calls and large file downloads.
Compatible with all WiFi enabled mobile devices, the marina WiFi is described as a “high-speed, low latency connection”.
Adrien Burnand, head of marketing at MDL Marinas, said: “Whether for business or pleasure, in this day and age most of us demand and expect excellent internet access wherever we may be.”
He added that the firm has already received positive feedback from bertholders, with one describing the marina WiFi as “exceptionally fast”.
Marina WiFi is offered free to members of the MDL Freedom Berthing scheme across all 19 of the company sites in Britain.
In other MDL Marinas news, the company recently revealed that it has been working with Ben Ainslie Racing to design a pontoon that will help to regenerate the local oyster population in Portsmouth Harbour.
The first set of oyster cages were installed in November and the molluscs will be monitored by Portsmouth University to see how they react.
