Remarkable underwater photo shows a semi-submerged Sunseeker Manhattan 50 charter boat resting on the sea bed off the coast of Ibiza
Two people escaped unharmed when a Sunseeker Manhattan 50 sunk off the coast of Ibiza earlier this month, local company Lifestyle Charters has confirmed.
Tracey Furness of Mallorca-based Lifestyle Charters told MBY: “There were two charter customers on board at the time, but they got off on a dinghy and there were no injuries. The vessel was fully insured.”

She added that the Sunseeker had hit a submerged reef, despite being equipped with a full range of navigational equipment.
The underwater rock formation was recorded on the charts, but not indicated with a marker buoy.
The incident happened on Friday September 18, and salvage firm Nautica Castavi were called to the scene between the Balearic islands of Ibiza and Formentera.
One of the salvage divers shot video footage for insurance purposes and uploaded it onto YouTube, but it has since been removed.
“It’s the first time that it’s happened in 20 years of chartering,” Tracey continued. “What we need to be doing around here is marking all the reefs with buoys.”
The vessel was successfully refloated by September 20 and returned to port without any diesel spillage or oil contamination, Nautica Castavi confirmed.
