Monte Carlo Yachts 105 launched in Venice

The new flagship model from Monte Carlo Yachts has been launched at a glittering ceremony in Venice

Monte Carlo Yachts has launched its largest model to date, with the MCY 105 making its public debut in Venice yesterday (July 26).

The Italian city has a special significance for the Bénéteau Group firm, as this is where it launched its first model, the MCY 76, just five years ago.

Since then, the Monte Carlo Yachts range has swelled to take in three further arrivals, ranging from 60ft to 86ft.

However, the MCY 105 takes things firmly into superyacht territory, with a Portuguese bridge layout and a top speed of around 28 knots from the twin 2,434hp MTU M93 engines.

MBY’s Jack Haines is currently in Venice putting these figures to the test on a sea trial and his full review will be published in an upcoming edition of the magazine.

Carla Demaria, president of Monte Carlo Yachts, said: “We began this journey with a mission to redefine the concept of luxury in yachting. But this is just one milestone, the first, of a new era for Monte Carlo Yachts.”

The new Motor Carlo Yachts 105 has a busy autumn ahead of her; with boat show appearances scheduled for the Cannes Yachting Festival (September 8-13), Monaco Yacht Show (September 23-26), and Genoa International Boat Show (September 30-October 5).
