Asian manufacturer Horizon Yachts has revealed details of how it leak tests its models before they are delivered to customers
In many industries, the leak test is the ultimate proof of build quality, but nowhere is it as crucial as in motor yacht building.
With this in mind, Horizon Yachts has revealed details of how it leak tests its brand new models before they are delivered to the customer.
The Taiwan-based manufacturer released the behind the scenes images above, which show the E56 and E88, two models from their flybridge range, being leak tested at their facility.
Thousands of gallons of water are showered over the body of the vessel from various angles for up to four hours to simulate monsoon conditions.
Then a team of inspectors is sent in to scour the boat for any signs of water ingress.
The manufacturer added that these tests are just one part of their thorough pre-delivery checks, which also include sea trials.
Horizon Yachts was founded in 1987 and today its collection ranges from the PC52 catamaran to the P136 superyacht.
