Countdown to London: Sunseeker Predator 57

The Sunseeker Predator 57 will make its worldwide debut at the CWM FX London Boat Show

See it: Stand B400

London wouldn’t be London without the launch of something new from Poole, and this year it is the turn of the Sunseeker Predator 57 to cause a rumpus.

It is unmistakably a member of the Predator family, with its sweeping roofline, glazed electric hardtop, shark-fin side windows and four huge panes of glass in the topsides.

The two largest windows line up with the full beam master cabin, which should be a pretty special place for a night’s sleep. Guests fare almost as well thanks to a VIP suite in the bow and a bunk bed cabin to starboard. The galley is below decks too, leaving the main deck free for a double helm station and an open-plan saloon and dining area.

The views from this dinette should be fabulous thanks to those massive side windows, a one-piece windscreen and saloon doors that reportedly drop down out of the way to leave a totally unobstructed view aft over the cockpit and transform the main deck into one vast living area. It’s hard to tell how the mechanism works from these renderings – something we’ll report back on from the show.

The cockpit has a decent wrap of seating around a table and a suitably vast sunpad, below which is a tender garage. There’s another couple of acres of sunpads on the foredeck as well, if your guests are feeling under-cooked.

The cockpit wet-bar is even more of a necessity than usual, so you can chill drinks and prep food without having to make your way down to the lower deck.

Sunseeker will offer the 57 with either traditional shaftdrives or Volvo Penta IPS pods, something it has done on previous sportscruisers to good effect as not everyone is sold on the concept of pod drives. Being a Sunseeker, it’s likely to be a fun steer whichever drives you opt for.
