Online survey to help shape the future of Cowes Harbour

Cowes Harbour Commission has launched an online survey to gather opinions on what the Isle of Wight port should look like in 2020 and beyond

Boat owners and Cowes Harbour users have been asked for their input as the local harbour commission looks to the future.

Cowes Harbour Commission (CHC) has set up an online survey, which hopes to attract responses from as many Cowes visitors and residents as possible.

The survey, which covers issues such as pollution, fire fighting and eduction, comes as construction of the Cowes breakwater continues on schedule, the CHC added.

Capt. Stuart McIntosh, Cowes Harbour Master, said: “The key question we are asking at this point is, what do you want Cowes Harbour to look like in 2020 and beyond?

“We intend to consult and involve harbour users and stakeholders right from the start.”

He added that a series of direct consultation meetings will be organised before the CHC publishes its new development strategy for the Isle of Wight port in April 2015.

In the meantime, anyone who uses Cowes Harbour is encouraged to complete the online survey before the closing date of 1 December.
