Boat lovers and watersports enthusiasts alike will have plenty of reasons to head to Cowes on the Isle of Wight this half term
The Isle of Wight BMF branch has announced plans for its annual On The Water event, which will offer RIB rides, sailing sessions and much more.
Organised in association with the Royal Yachting Association and Go Canoeing, the open day runs from 10am to 4:30pm on Friday 30 May at Cowes Yacht Haven.
As well as various opportunities to get involved in watersports, boat lovers will be able to admire a wide range of sea-going vessels.
These will include models from South Boats, Seaward, Cheetah Marine, Red Funnel, and Shearwater.
Sailing enthusiasts can book in for one-hour taster sessions on the UKSA’s fleet of keelboats, while the high-speed RIB experience will provide trips on the Solent.
Other half term attractions include a surfing simulator, a quayside barbecue, and training sessions from Seasafe and the RNLI.
Admission is free, although some of the training experiences may charge a price per session.
