Aquanaut breaks with Dutch steel boat tradition on Andante 438OC

From Sneek boatbuilders Aqaunaut comes proof that not all Dutch steel boats are the same

With 50 years’ experience in Dutch boatbuilding, Aquanaut could be forgiven for resting on their considerable laurels.

However, the steel boatbuilders have looked to shake things up with their latest design – the Andante 438OC.

Rather than being created by Aquanaut’s in-house team, the company has branched out and recruited award-winning marine architect Willem Nieland to take on the duties, making for an Aquanaut first.

The company describes the hull that he has created as “drastically new”, claiming that it will create low wash, a dry ride and high fuel efficiency.

This new approach is reflected on the inside by a redeveloped modern interior below the sheltered flybridge of this open cockpit model.

The 13m model will be followed up by 14m and 15m variants, as well as the option for an aft cabin in place of the flybridge.

Powered by a Perkins M150 diesel, these models will be made available in the UK through Bray Marine Sales.
