A further 80 berths are to be built in Sovereign Harbour at Eastbourne.
They will be designed to accommodate craft up to 24m in length to help meet the increasing need for larger moorings along the south coast.
The extension to the North Harbour will bring the number of berths at Sovereign Harbour to 840.
The site has a potential capacity of 1100 and there are plans to offer another 260 berths “over the next few years”. The new berths will be ready for use by the summer.
Pictured are Andy Garland, marina manager (right), with Clive Kemp, commercial director at Walcon Marine, which will install the new pontoons.
