Classic-looking dayboat built in Taiwan to a Dutch design
Boat reviews should never start at the stern, but an exception has to be made for the Admirals Tender – this boat really does have a shapely behind.
The inward curvature along the final run of the topsides – otherwise known as the tumblehome – gives the hull a truly classic look.
The Tender’s method of propulsion is a conventional shaftdrive, offering speeds of more than 20 knots if fitted with the 110hp Yanmar engine.
A galley is found just beside the helm unit, and there’s lots of seating and space to move around 20ft-long cockpit.
Forward is a useful cuddy with sitting headroom and an infill if you want to bunk down on the 6ft 8in-long V-berth.
A sea toilet is tucked under the central portion and it was pleasing to find deep, fiddled shelves to supplement the seat lockers.
The ride comfort around the 12-knot mark is good, but if you push on in a breeze, you might be subjected to some annoying spray.
