Unusual layout to the flybridge of Mustang's M43
One of the boats that impressed me so far is the Mustang 43, which is being seen for the first time at Southampton. This boat exemplifies better than anything else the differences in Australian and British flybridge-boat design. The upper helm position on Mustang’s M43 is quite different from anything that comes out of this country, located, as it is, to the rear of the flybridge. This leaves you with room for a vast seating area forward. Downstairs the Australian builder has opted for a single-level saloon, and a galley that sits to the rear of the saloon, right next to the aft deck. Being used to British flybridge design left me quite unprepared for what I found on the Mustang. There’s even a dishwasher! It’s powered by twin Cummins QSC490s and is on shafts.
