Face to face consultation over BW fee hikes

Boaters given a chance to air their grievances to BW staff at meetings

Motorboaters upset over plans by British Waterways to hike licence fees by 9% a year for the next three years are being given a chance to air their grievances.

At a series of ‘consultation meetings’ around the country, boaters can either “attend and make sure that their voice is heard; or passively accept British Waterways’ proposals, without dispute or discussion,” the Inland Waterways Association said.

The meetings will be held on the following dates and locations:

4 December – Watford
13 December – Leeds
14 December – Gloucester
16 December – Warwick
10 January – Northwich

British Waterways asks that you book ahead if you want to attend any one of the meetings, more details about which can be found here.
