It’s been lovely and sunny in Plymouth today, and the cruise participants have been spending their rest day making the most of the good weather. Mike and Brenda from Jomima ventured into town to do a spot of shopping at the Barbican, while the crew from Joli D did a six-mile walk around the harbour perimeter. David, Louise and Sophie from Flower Power caught the Cremyll Ferry to Cawsand, on the western entrance to Plymouth Sound, and visited Mount Edgcumbe House and Country Park estate, which dates back to the 1500s.
The MBM team has been busy getting on with jobs. Claire has been scrubbing down Blue Fin’s bathing platform in preparation for a teak stain treatment that will appear as a Tried & Tested feature in a forthcoming issue of MBM. Neale, on the other hand, has been fitting a cooling unit as part of a future DIY feature.
A 6pm briefing was held on A pontoon, where Cruise Leader Neale outlined passage plans for tomorrow. The plan is to depart Plymouth Sound, starting our journey east, crossing Bigbury Bay and rounding Bolt Head into Salcombe.
Tonight’s dinner at the Astras restaurant was a great success. The three-course meal was delicious and everyone had a lovely time.
