Inflatable sportsboat to premiere at PSP Southampton Boat Show 2010
RIB manufacturer Scorpion will launch a new model at the Southampton Boat Show.
The 9m STRIKE is based on Scorpion’s remodelled stepped hull and fitted with a single outboard engine.
“Prototype STRIKE hulls have been on test in a secret location during the past year and, using a single engine 300hp four stroke outboard, have been reaching speeds comfortably above 55 knots with fuel consumption of about 1 litre a mile at 35 knots,” said a spokesperson.
“Both the ride and the handling have been above expectation.”
The STRIKE will cost around £80,000 which includes a single Mercury 300hp Verado, Ullman seating, VHF radio, chartplotter and Flexitek decking.
The new model will sit alongside the Scorpion Serket 8.5m and the single engine Scorpion Sport 6.5m on stand C009 at the Southampton
Boat Show.
