New dredger at North Wales marinas to provide deep berth moorings
Conwy and Deganwy Marinas have jointly purchased a £600,000 dredger.
Little Orme was built in the Netherlands and purchased by Crown Estate – owned Quay Marinas, the operators of Conwy and Deganwy marinas.
This acquisition will not only contribute £6 million to the North Wales economy, as well as employing around 100 people, but will ensure that both marinas are able to continue to provide deep water berthing and compete effectively as one of the premier marinas in Wales.
Simon Haigh, Quay Marinas Managing Director, added: “This joint investment with The Crown Estate demonstrates Quay Marinas commitment to maintaining good working depths at both Conwy Quays and Deganwy Quays Marinas. The Little Orme will also be available to carry out dredging on behalf of third parties and this is something we are keen to promote.”
