American Sea Ray sinks as police RIB tears a hole in the side
The driver of a police RIB boat misjudged and managed to sink a civilian boat on the Potomac River in Georgetown, Washington DC. It is not known what the helmsman was doing at the time as he steered the large RIB, which has twin outboards, into the side of a Sea Ray 240 Sundancer. The outboard’s propellers dug into the hull of Sea Ray, leaving a large hole, which soon filled with water.
