Ribeye has acquired fellow UK RIB manufacturer Ribtec for an undisclosed sum
Ribeye, a Dartmouth, UK-based Rigid Inflatable Boat (RIB) builder founded three years ago, has acquired fellow UK RIB manufacturer Ribtec for an undisclosed sum.
With its design and development facility in Southampton Ribtec will now become design centre for the Ribeye Group and will manufacture bespoke models for both companies. This will encompass Ribeye’s larger leisure products and inboard diesels, in addition to Ribtec’s range of superyacht tenders and commercial products.
Earlier this year Ribeye transferred all production of its newly designed Ribeye/Yamaha leisure range, which was officially launched at the Southampton Boat Show last month, to Ribeye South Africa in Cape Town.
In November 1999 Yamaha signed an agreement to supply four- and two- stroke outboard engines to Ribeye and to distribute its boats through selected branches of Yamaha’s UK distribution network. Ribtec boats will also now be powered by Yamaha.
