Greek Grand Prix scheduled to take place in Thessaloniki on September 22-24 has been cancelled.
TIF SA (Thessaloniki International Fair), the organiser of the Greek Grand Prix scheduled to take place in Thessaloniki on September 22-24 has advised the International Offshore Team Association (IOTA) that ‘due to unexpected constraints and time limitations’ they are no longer in a position to stage the event in 2006.
“IOTA is very surprised and disappointed that the negotiations with TIF to bring Class 1 to Greece during the 2006 season have had a negative outcome following the extremely positive signals we received during our visits and at last month’s press conference in Thessaloniki,” said IOTA General Secretary, Marco Sala. “Unfortunately, TIF has advised us that they were unable to cover the budget for this season and that as of now, are working on being in a position to submit new proposals.
