Prestigious award for national show
The team behind the London Boat Show are celebrating after scooping a major award.
The show, held at ExCel every January and organised by the British Marine Federation’s subsidiary National Boat Shows, was named the Exhibition of the Year at the Trade Association Forum Best Practice Awards held at the Millennium Hotel, Mayfair, London.
The judges gave the award for the research into and provision of what exhibitors and visitors wanted from the event by introducing “a number of significant changes to the format of the exhibition to improve its overall appeal”.
They said: “Many established features were replaced by new initiatives to make the show more of a ‘lifestyle’ event.”
The judges praised the trade organisation for finding the time to renew and reinvigorate the flagship event and concluded: “The changes worked well and post-show feedback from visitors and exhibitors alike has been extremely positive.”
Commenting on the award, National Boat Shows managing director Andrew Williams said: “This is a fantastic accolade and reflects brilliantly on all those that worked so hard to bring about the changes we felt were necessary to reinvigorate the London Boat Show. I’d like to thank all of those responsible for delivering what was a very dynamic event.
“At National Boat Shows we firmly believe in innovation and I am confident that working with our sponsors, exhibitors and partners, 2008 will see the Collins Stewart London Boat Show continue to go from strength to strength and set the standard internationally.”
The Collins Stewart London Boat Show will take place at London ExCeL from 11-20 January 2008.
