This week's yacht tour is a very special edition, not because it's a big yacht or an expensive yacht, but it's MBY contributor Nick Burnham's very own yacht - the Jeanneau Leader 805 Smuggler's Blues II
Small enough to be manageable alone, but large enough to tackle offshore passages, the Jeanneau Leader 805 is a highly appealing package. So appealing that MBY’s regular technical contributor and boat tester Nick Burnham decided to buy one.
In this behind-the-scenes video, Nick talks us through his pride and joy – from the extended bathing platform to the bow – and explains why he bought it.
As he had no interest in trailing, Nick was undeterred by the Leader 805’s wider-than-average 9ft 8in beam – quite the opposite, this makes it a much more stable and spacious craft with enough room for sidedecks, which taper off towards the transom, allowing enough room for a six-person full-beam cockpit.
Nick has owned Smuggler’s Blues II since April 2017, cruising from Lyme Regis to Fowey and everywhere in between. Join him on board for the full tour…
