A sportscruiser from Trader utilising Zeus drives
What they say:”The 38 sprint has been born out of Tarquin’s desire to develop a smaller contemporary cruiser incorporating some of the most hi-tech features available.”
What we say:Yes, this is a Trader, it may not have an aft cabin or the tried and tested shaft drive configuration but the design of the 38 Sprint is pure Trader.
Plus points include the deep walk around side decks as well as three gates built in to the topsides allowing very easy entry and exit especially if you are handling the boat alone.
The aft cockpit has seating running around the port and starboard quarters with two tables expected to be installed on the production boats.
Inside the saloon there is a sizable dinette to port with a folding table and U-shaped seating, the front section cantilevering forward to create a double navigators position. A sliding door has been installed next to the helm meaning that access to the decks couldn’t be easier.
Accommodation consists of two cabins a forward master which is ensuite to the single heads and a mid cabin with two single berths and a good storage area.
Tarquin have taken full advantage of the new Zeus pod system from Cummins MerCruiser claiming that this is the first boat “designed specifically for Zeus”. Trader promise 38 knots from the twin 425hp diesels and hopefully it will have thrilling handling to match the sprightly performance.
The first boat will be ready for testing in April, until then, more details are available about the Trader 38 Sprint on the their website.
