Dramatic video footage shows a superyacht fire in a Turkish marina which has broken out on board a Princess 95
A devastating superyacht fire broke out in a Turkish marina at around midday local time today as this video footage shows.
The two-minute clip, posted onto YouTube by local dealer Eliad Hagiladi shows a Princess 95 burning as it is towed out of Ece Saray marina in the Turkish port of Fethiye.
The yacht is identified as Queen Anna, which was launched by the Plymouth yard in 2009. The broker adds that the fire had spread to neighbouring vessel Natalie, although crews reacted quickly and extinguished the fire on the latter vessel.
Footage shows people on board attempting to fight the enormous blaze, which seems to grow ever larger despite rainy conditions. The full extent and cause of the fire is yet to be determined.
This is the second time in less than a month that a superyacht fire has struck a Turkish marina, after Barbie and The One went up in flames in Marmaris on the morning of January 4.
UPDATE: Local newspaper Fethiye Times reports that the man standing on the foredeck is the boat’s captain Vladimir Lopata and adds that the 64-year-old was later treated for smoke inhalation at hospital.
