First of the new superyachts is scheduled for delivery in 2015
Azimut has released images of its biggest ever boat, the Azimut Grande 140 Trideck, the first of which is scheduled for delivery in 2015.
The new flagship is Italy’s response to the ever bigger boats coming out of British yards in recent years, amongst them Princess’s 40M and Sunseeker’s 40 Metre Yacht.

Azimut claims the 137ft superyacht represents a new concept in superyachting, offering “the performance of a planing hull with the cruising comfort of a displacement hull”.
This is down to Azimut’s new ‘D2P_Displacement to Planing‘ hull, which is designed to reduce wave resistance resulting in a longer range and increased efficiency.
Pushing the boat through the water will be twin MTU 16V4000 engines driving new Rolls-Royce pod drives designed specifically for this hull.
A max speed of 22 knots and a cruising speed of 17 knots puts the boat right alongside the Princess 40M and Sunseeker 40 Metre Yacht in terms of performance.
Inside, owners will have a choice of three different styles – ‘Land’, ‘Sea’ and ‘Air’ – and 15 layouts, promising buyers plenty of choice.
